My perspective

Our lives are shaped by many overlapping influences – family, culture, race, gender, sexuality, class, and the ways society values or devalues difference. I hold these realities in mind because they affect how we see ourselves and how we’re seen by others.

I also recognise that our brains and bodies work in diverse ways. Many of the people I work with describe themselves as neurodivergent – autistic, ADHD, or simply wired differently from what’s expected.  I’m interested in how therapy can offer a space of understanding rather than pathologising difference.

My intention is to create a space where all aspects of who you are can be present and explored safely – where different is not a problem to be fixed, but part of the story we work with together.

How I work

I see therapy as a space where you can slow down and begin to notice what’s happening in your inner world.  We’ll explore your thoughts, feelings, and the patterns that shape your experience – always at a pace that feels right for you.

Humanistic Integrative Psychotherapy draws on different ways of understanding people rather than a single method or theory. This allows me to work flexibly, focusing on what’s most relevant and helpful for you.

You don’t need to have clear goals or know exactly what’s wrong. Therapy can simply be a place to start understanding yourself, to make more sense of what you’re feeling, and to develop steadier ways of being with whatever life brings.

What I can help with

People come to therapy for many reasons. Sometimes it’s a response to a particular loss, change, or period of distress. At other times there’s no single cause – just a sense that life feels harder than it needs to.

You might be experiencing:

  • Anxiety, low mood, or a general feeling of being stuck

  • Relationship or family difficulties

  • Self-criticism or low self-esteem

  • Effects of past experiences that still feel present

  • Stress, overwhelm, or burnout

  • Questions about identity, purpose or direction

  • Difficulty understanding yourself or

  • Difficulty in being understood by others

Therapy offers time and space to explore these experiences with curiosity and compassion, to understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and to find ways of relating to yourself that feel more supportive.

contact

Taking the first step towards therapy can feel uncertain. You may not be sure what to say, or whether it’s the right time – that’s completely understandable. Getting in touch doesn’t mean you’re committing to ongoing sessions; it’s simply a way to start a conversation.

We can arrange a 50 minute introductory session. We’ll probably begin by talking about what brings you to therapy. The sessoin will give you a chance to feel what it is like talking with me and, of course to ask any questions you have. Afterwards, you can decide if you would like to continue to meet regularly.

I am happy to arrange a brief phone call if you’d find that helpful before booking an introductory session.
